In Feb 2021 the Gila River Community announced another massive expansion project to build a 3,300-acre sports and entertainment complex on nearby property south of the intersection of Loop 202 and interstate 10. In 2020 the Gila River Indians broke ground on a $180M expansion of their Wild Horse Pass property to add a new 11-story hotel tower, an updated casino floor and more convention space. The Wild Horse Pass casino complex is owned by the Gila River Indian Community, which owns three other Gila River Resorts & Casinos locations including Lone Butte Casino in Chandler, Vee Quiva Casino in the West Valley, and Santan Mountain Casino opening in 2023 in the Southeast Valley. The property is located in Chandler, Arizona at Loop 101 and Loop 202 on Wild Horse Pass Boulevard. Wild Horse Pass Casino opened Octoat a construction cost of $200 million.
